Aerial Adventure Park – Mega Adventure Park – West Beach

Adelaide Shores lodged a plan in early 2014 for a $2 million Mega Adventure Park. It is Australia’s first freestanding aerial adventure park at Hamra Avenue, West Beach. It will open in October, 2015 and offer 120 aerial activities. The official opening date is on the 27th of November, 2015.
Similar to others like it in other countries, our aerial adventure park is 26 metres high. The official web site for the park describes it as follows.
The main feature at Mega is the SkyMate, a 26-metre-high structure which will launch with 70 aerial crossings – individual activities that consist of scramble nets, rope bridges, beams, swings, log steps, aerial surfboards and even Adelaide wine barrel steps.
The SkyMate is accessible for people of all ages. You can do the SkyChallenge and create your own experience with crossings graded like ski slopes. SkyChallenge guests will be harnessed in and suspended from a line- if you fall, you will be able to climb back on with no fuss.
Alternatively, you can do the SkyWalk and enjoy some of the most gorgeous, uninterrupted and breathtaking views across the Adelaide plains whilst watching your friends and family challenge themselves in a fun, safe environment.
There is one point to note for parents intending on taking their children there. Children should be at least 120cm for the harness and 20 kilograms in weight, according to a post on the park’s Facebook page on the 24th September, 2015.
The aerial adventure park is designed in a similar way to military training equipment. It can therefore be used for corporate group bonding days and similar activities. The public will enjoy exploring what it has to offer just the same.
